US President Donald Trump is physically and mentally in excellent shape, according to his White House physician.
Last week Trump insisted on testing his mental abilities as well, Dr. Ronny Jackson said Tuesday in Washington. “I have no qualms about his mental abilities.” The same applies to the neurological functions.
Triggered by the book “Fire and Fury” by the journalist Michael Wolff, there had recently been open speculation in Washington about Trump’s state of mind. Based on numerous collaborators Trumps suggests the book, Trump is unable to do his job.
Trump completed the Montreal Cognitive Assessment during his check-up at the Walter Reed Military Medical Center, a test used, among other things, for the early detection of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. In the test, the patient must recognize some drawn animals such as a lion or a rhinoceros, or trace a cube. There are also questions that focus on concentration and memory.
Jackson said Trump passed the test with 30 out of 30 points. Only under 27 see doctors warning lights flashing. He also sees the president constantly in the White House, sometimes up to three times a day, Jackson said. He also has no reason to doubt his mental capacity – he had not suggested to him the appropriate test. According to Jackson, there are no signs whatsoever of Trump for Alzheimer’s or dementia.
The doctor gave Trump altogether a tip-top certificate. The president was in a remarkable and unusually good condition for a man of his age. Above all, all values that concern his heart, are outstanding.
Trump’s resting heart rate was 68, his blood pressure was 122/74. Trump also takes a cholesterol-lowering drug alongside aspirin and, according to Dr. Jackson, a remedy for hair loss.
Asked why Trump, despite his well-known high consumption of fast food and cola, has such good health, Jackson said, “It’s the genes.” Plus, Trump benefits from the fact that he never smoked and did not drink a drop of alcohol.
Jackson said there were no health concerns as to why Trump could not serve until the end of his term.
However, Jackson said, he advised Trump to lose weight. Trump is 1.90 meters tall and weighs 108.4 kilograms. That would make Trump very overweight. He would come to a body mass index of 29.9 and would be close to obesity. Referring to Trump’s New York driving license data, Politico and the New York Times reported that Trump’s current physique would have grown a good two inches over time.
